Rio Fuetre Beaded Lizards (Heloderma horridum exasperatum) are one of only two poisonous lizards globally. Although bites are very rare, they can cause local pain, dizziness, vomiting and hypotension.
These lizards get their name from the bead-like texture of their scales, which will often form black and yellow stripes. They also have a short tail, which is used as a fat store and energy reserve for when food is scarce.

Habitat
Forests and shrub lands of western Mexico.
Name
Their scientific name is translated to mean “the terrible one with studded skin”
Life Span
They can live up to 30 years
