Unsung creatures

7 Mar 2022

Thank you to everyone who submitted their photos for our ‘unsung creatures’ competition, and well done to Ilse Hughes, who is our winner. We loved the sharpness and colour of her striated caracara image.
BIAZA (our professional body) called upon zoos across the country to share pictures of their lesser known or rarer creatures. We have submitted Ilse’s image, along with some from our staff. Fingers crossed, but Ilse is our winner and can enjoy a day at the park with an animal experience.

We have also selected some worthy runners-up, and our favourites from our staff team here. It’s been fantastic to celebrate some of the animals and birds that don’t usually get the limelight!
