Creepy but cool

16 Sep 2022

Halloween is coming and we have some exciting, spooky plans. Throughout the October half-term, we will be running Creepy but Cool to shine a ghostly spotlight on our often under-appreciated critters from the underworld.

They slither! They slide! They burrow! And sometimes they might scare you just a little! But there is much to enjoy amongst our reptiles, amphibians and insects. The big highlight of the 11-day adventure will be the launch of our brilliant new Twilight Zone where special lighting will reverse night and day to enable you to enjoy nocturnal creatures like the giant-eyed slender loris, tunnelling naked mole rats, and possum-like cuscus. We will be running free mini tours with a keeper each afternoon.

Other highlights of Creepy but Cool include:

  • Villainous Venoms and Pestilent Poisons fun talk
  • Create your own broomstick and wands (£5 charge towards materials)
  • Meet the Bugs with our keepers
  • A children’s themed trail with prize
  • Learn about our conservation work covering all our creepy crawlies
  • Children in fancy dress go half price when accompanied by a full paying adult.

In addition to our daytime half term fun, on 28 October, we will stay open until 6pm for an hour of spooky fun. Solve the riddles to find animal-themed stations around the park – and enjoy a treat behind each creepy door.

Boo at the Zoo is an additional £4 per child as an add-on to your day admission. If you are coming to the park during the day, you are welcome to leave and come back for the evening.
