We are pleased to announce our plans to ensure that visitors are kept supplied with tasty food and drink while on-site food outlets are closed for refurbishment through the winter months.
Both the Peacock Restaurant and Honesty Cafe will close their doors on 1 November 2022, and we would like to say a big thank you for their time with us. Their roles will instead be fulfilled by some excellent mobile outlets. Brew Box Berkshire will offer drinks and cakes daily (including home made cakes, proper coffee and luxury hot chocolate), while Main Street Kitchen will serve hot and cold food over weekends and event periods. Options include loaded hot dogs, mac and cheese, home made soup and plant burgers. Seating will still be available in picnic areas and within the Peacock Restaurant.
Plans envisage a permanent and revitalised food and drink facility being in place at the park for the spring of 2023.

We understand our visitors’ concerns about catering arrangements within the park. We would like to take the opportunity to clarify a few points. Both Honesty Café and Peacock Restaurant have been run by external companies, who employed their own staff. We know these outlets have been enjoyed by many, and we join you in thanking them for their time at the park. For various reasons, it was mutually agreed that the arrangement had come to a natural conclusion at the end of contracts. We have been gathering the feedback of our members and visitors for some time – many of whom are looking for value for money, quality of food, choice and environmental responsibility. With the new permanent catering provision that will be in place by the Spring, we believe we can meet all these priorities. We recognise that the increased cost of living makes the availability of healthy and child-friendly food options at the top of most family’s agendas. Like many of you, we are also focusing on our eco credentials and we are keen that our catering supplier shares these values.
In the meantime, we have two excellent mobile catering options and will continue to make the Peacock Restaurant available for warm, indoor dining. We believe that our members receive good value from their annual passes, and will continue to make this a priority – such as the recent doubling of train tickets. Main Street Kitchen will offer 10% off to members, and Brewbox Berkshire are providing a similar coffee card to the current restaurant. We feel confident that the catering changes represent a positive new direction for Beale, and we look forward to unveiling our new permanent offering very soon.
