The Salmon Pink Bird Eating Tarantula (Lasiodora Parahybana) is thought to be one of the top five largest tarantulas in the world. Despite their size, they are quite docile and do not have strong venom. It is thought that their fangs are more painful than their actual venom.
Despite this spider’s name, the bird-eating spider will rarely eat birds, instead, they eat insects, lizards, frogs and other spiders.
When young, these spiders are pink all over, with darker abdomens. However, their colours change dramatically as they age, becoming almost black, with lighter coloured stripes and pink-ish hairs over their abdomens and legs.
